Breaking Through Barriers
What are your real or perceived barriers? A glass ceiling? A stone ceiling? Lack of funding, opportunities, education, supporters? Lack of perceived worth or value? Regrets? Too much baggage?
On May 22, 2018, we will break through the barriers that have held us back from reaching the next level of our full potential. We will learn how we can change our personal strongholds to successes; disappointments to opportunities; and insecurities to influence.
The UCLA Women in Tech Conference and Dinner will convene 250+ female influencers and decision makers in tech companies, teams, or roles for a collaborative discussion to reframe how we think and what we do about the gender and diversity gap in the tech sector. We will explore ways to advance women of all ethnicities, leadership levels, backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses by addressing three of the most requested topics for strategic discussion by women across all industries: leadership and empowerment, negotiation strategies, and diversity and inclusion. This event is open to both women and men.

About the UCLA Women in Tech initiative
As a public university, our commitment is to provide a forum that brings together the tech community to help reduce gender inequality in the tech sector nationally. Only 20% of jobs in STEM are held by women, although women comprise of over 50% of the workforce. Our goal with this conference is to educate and empower participants with actionable items and information that they can effectively incorporate into corporate, public, and entrepreneurial environments, resulting in measurable advancements for women in tech. Our goal is to explore effective ways to advance women of all races, backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses in the tech sector.
